Day 081: Geek Squad

My desktop computer got a really bad virus and Dr. Dennis came over to fix it. But it was so bad he couldn't fix it here and had to take the computer with him. Hopefully we don't have to give it a lobotomy and start over...

Day 080: Cookies

I really need to learn to like exercising since I have no self-control when it comes to food...

Day 079: Lunch

Crab/pasta salad for lunch on the back deck, reading Under the Skin, while Rodney, Auggie, and Toby run around the backyard.

Day 078: First Hike

Today was Auggie's first hike. (It was the third day in a row for me, Toby, Rodney, and Marc--yesterday we went to Pine Haven.) I think Auggie had a blast. I had all three dogs tied to me and it was quite the work out. [Just an hour after the hike and all three dogs are passed out on the sofa.]

Day 077: Soccer

I went to Kayla's soccer game. It was a lot hotter out than I thought it was going to be and I ended up with a sunburn, but it was good to see her.

Day 076: Hiking

The weather was perfect for hiking, so Toby, Rodney, Dennis, Marc, and I went to City Forest.

Day 075: Pillow

I stacked the pillows up to lean against them while I read a book. Rodney decided it was good place to relax and wedged himself in there... while I was still leaning on them.

Day 074: Glitter Shoes

I ordered these fabulous glitter flats from Target... unfortunately, they're just a little too small. And they don't have any in the next size up. I'm not sure the suffering is worth the glitter...

Little girls are so much fun to shop with.

Day 072: Dog Park

We took Auggie to the dog park for the first time. I think he had a blast. Plus, my friend Cheyenne from work showed up with her Rat Terriers, so our dogs got to meet and make friends.

Day 069: Bonfire

Sarah and Kevin hosted a bonfire. It was great. Sarah caught the lawn on fire a little bit, but other than that, things were still pretty smooth. ":)

I used one of the vacuum seal bags to help Ashley pack for Texas. This bag contains 2 quilts, a pillow, a few sheet sets, several pillow cases, and a mattress pad.

Day 065: New Clothes

Ashley and I went shopping at Kohl's tonight with two $10-off coupons and a 30%-off your entire purchase coupon. Plus, everything we got was on sale or on clearance. According to the receipt, we saved $213.97 on 2 pairs of pants, 1 pair of shorts, 7 shirts, and 10 underpants.

Day 064: Crazy

We had game night with the Dybas Family and the Hupfers. The kids wanted to go swimming even though it was barely in the 70s and the pool temp was only 72. They didn't last long. Kayla and Josh actually jumped in, but Andy only stood on the top step.

Day 063: Grad Party

Sitting around the fire towards the end of my graduation party. It was a pretty good turn-out: Mom & Dad, Ashley, Dennis, Jet & Steve, John & Glenn, Jen & Dennis, the Taylors, the San Juans, Carly, Marc, Mandy, John, the Mathews, Gram, the Nussears, Kevin, the Harings, Ed, Carrie, and Josh.

Day 061: Jello Shots

I started making Jello shots for my grad party on Saturday. I made alcohol-free blue ones just for Gage.

Day 060: Tie-Dye

Day 059: Yoga Toby

My back is still messed up from camping (crappy chair and sleeping on the ground), so I've been doing yoga to stretch it out. Toby decided he wanted to do yoga with me.

In the morning, we hiked (leg work-out) and in the afternoon, we kayaked the Rifle River (arm work-out). It was good exercise and wonderful to be in nature.

I won a gift certificate to The Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe in the adult summer reading program at the library. I also won two gift certificates at the movie night at Dow Gardens. The question was "Who played Rooster Cogburn in the original True Grit?" I was the first one to put up my hand, because, of course, the answer is John Wayne.

Day 053: Fiction Island

I just started reading One of Our Thursdays is Missing by Jasper Fforde. If you want to know about Fiction Island, you'll have to read the book. If you click on the picture, you can make it bigger. Where I'm pointing is a body of water called NaNoWriMo. That is where my novel is located on Fiction Island. ":)

Day 052: Trail Mix

I made trail mix for our camping trip: dried cranberries, raisins, almonds, honey roasted peanuts, cashews, sunflower nuts, pumpkin seeds, and soybeans.

Day 051: Pedicures by Lily

I painted my toenails black for the pirate adventure because I figured that if pirates painted their toes, they would paint them black. Then at the pool party on Sunday, Lily wanted toes like mine, but I talked her into glitter polish instead. She then proceeded to paint my toenails, Ashley's toenails, and Sarah's toenails. I tried to get her to paint the guys' toenails, but she wouldn't.
